The Amazing Underwater Forest of Lake Kaindy
What makes Lake Kaindy truly remarkable is that it contains an underwater forest. Visible on the lakes surface are the tall, dried-out tops of submerged Spruce trees that rise above the water’s surface like the masts of sunken ships. They are the only sign of the amazing frozen forest below the water’s surface.
The water is so cold (even in summer the temperature does not exceed 6 degrees) that the pine needles remain on the trees, even after a hundred years of being submerged. During the winter, the lake freezes and becomes a popular spot for ice diving.
The lake is 400 meters long and is located in Kazakhstan’s portion of the Tian Shan Mountains, about 129 km from the city of Almaty. The lake was created after an earthquake in 1911 triggered a large landslide blocking the gorge and forming a natural dam.

Oh my fucking shit.
THAT’S why you want to see this film? For Tom Hiddleston’s torso?
Not for a ‘witty script filled with brill literary references’? Really?
Really?
I want to see the film because it does look brilliant (from what little we’ve seen) and it’s an everlasting love story, which everyone falls for. It looks like an absolutely beautiful film, and how could it not be with so many amazingly talented people working on it? I mean Tilda Swinton herself is in this, that alone tells you it is bound to be good.
Go on and on about how we’re all simplifying the film and degrading it and how disappointed you are in the people of tumblr and only want to see it because of Tom’s good looks and rumoured shirtlessness and not for the apparent wit and charm and brilliance of it, but, also, you have to admit,
shirtless Tom Hiddleston will be a plus.
If you don’t think so, you’re lying.
